Showroom Assistant

This is a very specific role that involves Couture sales, Retail Merchandising, and some degree of Marketing.

The ideal candidate is someone with a luxury sales or merchandising background looking for professional growth.

FULL-TIME ROLE, Tuesdays to Sundays.

Location: BANDRA WEST, MUMBAI

Salary: Will vary based on skills & experience*

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is the first of its kind at Sharnita Nandwana, and would suit candidates that are interested in working at a startup-like setup that demands multi-tasking across several responsibilities. If employed, you will be working directly with Sharnita.

DUTIES: (Extensive training will be provided)

  • As this is primarily a client-facing role, you will act as an ambassador for Sharnita Nandwana’s aesthetics and brand values.

  • You will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our clients using a personalised selling technique - this will include responding to client requests, queries or calls; scheduling appointments & fittings, and conducting in-person sales appointments with expertise and attention to the smallest details.

  • You will handle all communication with clients in a professional and timely manner.

  • While conducting in-showroom appointments, duties will involve:

    - showing clients our collection, both on the rack and on-screen

    - using your expertise to assist clients in their choice of outfit and often advising them on customisations based on their preferences and body type

    - ensuring clients have assistance in the fitting room whilst trying on garments

    - taking measurements according to Sharnita Nandwana guidelines.

    - processing orders and communicating them to the atelier.

    - executing accurate and professional couture fittings and recording detailed alteration requirements as per our guidelines

    - following up with the atelier on active orders and ensuring timelines are met.

    - packing and handing over purchases to the client.

  • Maintaining an impeccable level of tidiness and visual appeal in the showroom.

  • Inventory management.

  • Being the point of contact for our B2B client stores, and assisting them with order queries, alterations, deliveries and merchandising tasks.

  • Marketing duties will be basic/secondary and will include assisting with photo & video shoots, creating in-studio content for social media, assist with running the brand’s Instagram account, assisting in strategy and client outreach. Photogaphy and Photoshop skills are not necessary but will be an added bonus.

ABOUT YOU

  • We are only looking for candidates with experience. You will have at least 1-2 years of experience in a luxury sales or merchandising role, either for another couture designer, or for a reputed multi-designer store.

  • You have an education to a bachelor’s degree - an education in garment construction, design or tailoring is an added bonus but not a necessity.

  • You are knowledgeable and passionate about luxury fashion and the bridal market, both domestic and international.

  • You are very tidy, and your time-keeping and organisational skills are exemplary.

  • You are always well presented, have excellent communication skills and the ability to speak fluent English in a polite and professional manner.

  • You have the ability to adapt your skills to the needs and expectations of each client.

  • You are extremely detail-orientated and patient with an ability to handle stress with a can-do, solution-focused attitude.

  • You are self-motivated and active, with a keen interest to drive sales and grow the brand.

  • You are available to work on both Saturdays and Sundays, with a day off on Mondays. Your daily timings are 10am-7pm with a 1 - hour lunch.

  • You are comfortable with computers - Microsoft Excel is a necessity, and Adobe Photoshop a bonus.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

- *Salary for this role will have a generous commission-based structure and will depending on experience & skill.

- Our busiest season falls between October and February and the team generally avoids taking personal leave during this time.
