About the Label

Sharnita Nandwana is the product of a fascination with Indian craftsmanship and the couture process of the historic Parisian atelier. At the core of the brand lives an obsession with detail, from design, to fabric, right down to the individual beads we use on our pieces. We thrive on the slow-fashion movement, which allows us to create heirloom pieces from scratch, all the way to the final product.

Our mission is to give our clients not only the design of their dreams, but also to give our clients something that encapsulates their personality and happiest selves. By ensuring the fit of each garment and attention to detail, we strive to give the wearer a sense of ultimate comfort, beauty and confidence. Our atelier is a place where we welcome and enjoy learning from our beloved clients, and where we are able to fulfil the creative needs of our small team of highly skilled embroiderers and dressmakers.

Ever since its inception, Sharnita Nandwana has been and continues to be a favourite of modern Indian brides and celebrities alike, and has graced red carpets across India, worn by some of the most iconic, influential, talented and fashion-forward women of India, including Anushka Sharma, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Dia Mirza, Kriti Sanon, Yami Gautam and Diana Penty among others.

“Our mission is to give our clients not only the design of their dreams, but also to give our clients something that encapsulates their personality and happiest selves.”

About the Designer

Sharnita Nandwana was born and raised in Mumbai, India. At the age of 21, she moved to London to pursue an education in fashion. An alumnus of the London College of Fashion, her work is a product of her diverse experiences in the world of international fashion. After graduating from the London College of Fashion with the university’s coveted ‘Fashion and Textiles’ award and critical acclaim from the British fashion media, she went on to gain valuable experience working varied roles in the design studios of British design houses Burberry Prorsum, Preen and Giles. She also spent a year in Northern Thailand working with hand-woven textiles produced by ethnic minorities before returning to Bombay to set up her own atelier. Inspired by her experience in slow fashion and her fascination with couture, Sharnita set up her studio in 2014 and launched her eponymous label, specializing in couture eveningwear with an emphasis on bridal and cocktail gowns. The label is dedicated to preserving the incredible craft of hand-embroidery in Mumbai whilst setting it against an international landscape.
